Signed Bookplate Fundraiser

Some of you have asked about getting a signed copy of SQL for Data Scientists, and this is my solution for “remotely” signing your book without having to manage inventory and book sales and shipping, myself!

Below, you can purchase a signed sticker (“bookplate”) to put into the front cover of your book, or support one of my fundraisers to receive a bookplate personally made out to you (or a friend, as a gift!).

There are three options:

1. For $2 US (plus additional shipping fee for international locations), I will sign and mail you a bookplate sticker. You can choose to pay up to $9.99, and any extra proceeds will go into a pool of funds to support the causes below.

2. If you contribute $10 or more to the fundraiser on top of the $2 to cover my costs, I will personalize the signing, making it out to the name entered. (This is the name you want me to write, so yours or the gift recipient. Nicknames are fine!) The proceeds will go to your choice of one of the following causes:

      • NumFOCUS, which sponsors open-source development projects many data scientists rely on, organizes educational events like PyData conferences, and works to improve inclusion of underrepresented people through their sponsored projects and events.
      • In August, my twitter followers gave enough through DonorsChoose.org to provide 12 teachers’ classrooms with supplies and masks for COVID-19 protection to help children whose families couldn’t afford their own masks. This option will continue to support additional classrooms.
      • SQL for future Data Scientists! If you select this option, your contribution will go towards purchasing copies of my book for school and community libraries in low-income areas.

3. If you want to contribute to the causes without receiving a signed bookplate, use the links in the “Donate Only” section. If you give directly to NumFocus or DonorsChoose, DM me on twitter to let me know, so I can add your contribution to our total!
